Drainage Works North Road, Bodle Street Green
Warbleton Parish Council
Balfour Beatty working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the
highways service across East Sussex will soon be carrying out drainage works on the
North Road, Bodle Street Green, to help alleviate flooding.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out from Tuesday 19 August to Wednesday 27 August 2025 between 8am and 5pm.
Any changes to the dates or times will be displayed on the advanced warning signs on
site.
What are they doing?
These works involve repairs to the underground drainage system, as well as root cutting
and vegetation clearance.
How will this impact highway users?
They will be working from the junction of Trumpets Lane and continue approximately 475
metres North East, with traffic diverted via White Horses Road, Bodle Street Road,
Rookery Lane, the B2096, South Lane, Bluekiln Lane and vice versa.
For access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team. This is for
access only and there will be no through route. There may be a short delay while we make
it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle will be escorted by site marshals. Access for
emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise
where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay the
works.
Waste collection: Access will be granted for any waste collection.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example
heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may notice some noise, flashing lights, or reversing
sirens. They will do their utmost to keep this to a minimum.
Should you have any concerns regarding these works, please contact eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com
