Information from East Sussex Highways

When do they start?
Works will take place from Monday 11 August to Wednesday 13 August 2025 between
8am to 4:30pm. ESCC will inform any changes to the dates or times via advanced
warning signs on site.
What does the work involve?
These works involve repairing the damaged parapet, installing new verge marker bollards
and fence railings, as well as painting the structure to improve the overall condition.
How will this impact highway users?
ESCC will be working close to ‘Hunston’s Farm’.
Access will be restricted for residents whilst the work is taking place with traffic will be
diverted via Kingsley Hill, White Birch Lane, Marklye Lane, Cowbeech Road, Kingsley Hill
and vice versa.
If you need vehicle access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team.
This is for access only and there will be no through route. There may be a slight delay
while ESCC make it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, ESCC will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise
where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay ESCC
works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example
heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Waste collection: Access will be granted for any waste collection.
Public Transport: Local bus services have been informed of these works and will be
diverted.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can

be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing
sirens.

ESCC would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or
disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for
the East Sussex highway network. Should you have any concerns regarding these works,
you can contact us at eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com.
